People unable to use public transportation due to a disability may be eligible for a provincial gas rebate from the Consumer Taxation Branch of this department. Application forms are available from the Consumer Taxation Branch; they must be returned with a doctors verification of the disability, and photocopies of vehicle registration and drivers license. The applicant must be 16 years of age or older and must be the registered owner or lessee of the vehicle. Receipts must be retained and submitted with the claim. The amount of the rebate is the tax paid on the purchase of fuel to a maximum of $400.00 per year.
