Community Outreach
One of the Centre's priorities is to encourage Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal peoples to gain a greater understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal culture and heritage. The Victoria Native Friendship Centre offers cross-cultural presentations to schools, businesses and organizations.

Community Programs
Community programs include the Elders' room, Elders' dinners and graduation recognition services for those completing the VNFC's self development and educational programs

Drop-In Centre
This program, funded by the United Way, offers ongoing recreational and cultural activities at the VNFC Bay Street location and at other locations throughout Victoria. These activities include family recreation, basketball, indoor soccer, volleyball, swimming, arts & crafts classes, video presentations, billiards and computer games.

First Peoples Festival
This immensely popular annual festival presents approximately 350 Aboriginal artists, story tellers, dancers, musicians and fashion designers. The festival, which is produced by the Victoria Native Friendship Centre in collaboration with the Royal British Columbia Museum, has grown to be the country's largest Aboriginal event with an average attendance of about 50,000 visitors. The Festival takes place each August at the Royal British Columbia Museum with activities and presentations in the Mungo Martin Big House, in Thunderbird Park, in the Museum's outdoor plaza and within the Museum.
