LAW STUDENTS LEGAL ADVICE PROGRAM Room 158, 1822 East Mall UBC Faculty of Law Vancouver, BC V6T 1Z1 This student operated program supervised by lawyers gives free legal advice to people on low incomes. The law clinics operate in Greater Vancouver neighbourhoods at night during the school year, and full-time during the summer. Assistance is given in areas such as landlord-tenant disputes, E.I., BC Benefits, consumer complaints, immigration, wills, small claims, employer-employee disputes, ICBC claims, and other areas of law. The program does not give advice on problems involving land, mortgages, personal injury claims, family, or criminal matters, but can help refer a client to appropriate resources. It also offers specialized clinics serving First Nations people, women, seniors, Korean and Chinese-speaking people, and persons with AIDS. Advice will not be given over the phone.
