As an agency of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, BCHMC is responsible for British Columbia’s social housing. BCHMC provides subsidies to low- and moderate-income seniors, families, and people with disabilities who are capable of independent living and are paying more than 30 per cent of their household income toward rent.

BCHMC also provides a service through its Wheelchair Registry to match people looking for wheelchair modified accommodations with those who have such housing available for rent or purchase. Application forms for social housing, rental subsidies and the Wheelchair Registry are available at BCHMC offices.
