Addictions Counselling
Individual counselling is offered to those dealing with addictions. Pre/post treatment counselling and support and referral to treatment centres and support groups are also available.

Child & Family Services
Two Social Workers and the In-Home Support Program offers counselling and support to families in such areas as positive parenting, child care skills, basic budgeting, nutritional information and quality home planning. A special program for young parents and mothers is offered. Family Support provides essential services to families and individuals in crisis. The focus of this program is individual and family healing, prevention and intervention.

LifeSkills Program
A ten week session is offered twice a year for parents who are interested in workshops on issues such as anger management, self-esteem, organizational skills positive parenting and cultural and personal empowerment. Participants learn about group building, group processes, and giving respectful feedback, while developing skills in applying positive alternatives to life problems.

Youth Corrections & Adult Prison Liasion
These programs provide support to clients who are presently or were previously involved with the Provincial Corrections System. Prevention program include counselling, referrals to other agencies, workshops concerning drug, alcohol and substance abuse and child welfare. Other services include supervision of community service hours, liaison to parole officers and support for court appearances. Cultural activities, including sweats, smudging and healing circles, are provided within the Wilkinson facilities.

Daycare Project
The VNFC is in the process of developing a high quality, respectful child care program promoting the learning and appreciation of traditional culture and identity. This child care program would be welcoming to both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal children, forming a bridge between cultures, and combating racism. Activities such as language instruction, traditional foods, dancing, crafts and guidance by Elders will play pivotal roles in the program.
