This association is the primary resource organization for self-help/ mutual aid in BC. In order to maintain the essence of SHRA's motto "People Helping People Help Themselves" they have divided their service delivery into six programs which provide services for independent grassroots self-helpers, service agencies and professionals. Highlights include:

• Annual Conference/Forum
• Information and Referral Service
• Public Education, Community Development and Outreach
• Annual Directory of Self-Help/Support Groups in the Lower Mainland
