Mental Health Information Line
This is a 24-hour computerized information system providing a variety of pre-recorded taped messages (requiring a touch tone phone) on mental illness. Printed materials can be requested by callers. It also provides information on treatment and support groups. Personal operators can be reached between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

Ministry of Health Information Line
The Ministry of Health Information Line provides information on a wide variety of Ministry of Health programs, services, policies, legislation and major health issues (e.g. cancer, surgical waitlists, regionalization, access to health records, supplementary health services). In addition to providing detailed information, Information Line staff also provide accurate and timely referrals to ministry staff, public health units, mental health centres and other community-based resources. Staff will also assist callers in obtaining brochures, pamphlets, reports, fact sheets and other import materials and resources produced by the Ministry of Health.The primary mandate of the ministry's Information Line is to provide a province-wide single point of access to the Ministry of Health.

It develops and distributes a booklet titled Information for Seniors - Your Guide to Programs and Benefits in British Columbia. This is available to seniors, their families and caregivers throughout BC at major seniorsorganizations, health units, pharmacies, Government Agentsoffices, Band offices, and friendship centres.
