Our focus is on workplace-based reintegration. Research shows that this is the most effective way of restoring and maintaining a worker's abilities, while reducing the economic cost of disability to employers, government and insurance carriers.
The Institute is a labour - management initiative without precedent. Established in 1994 by the Disabled Workers Foundation of Canada, the Institute now encompasses all of the Foundation's activities. The Institute's activities are supported by endowments from major public and private Canadian organizations including employers, unions and the federal and provincial governments.
