This society advocates for improvement and integration of treatment and rehabilitation services for persons who have experienced a mental illness. It aims to improve public understanding and attitudes about mental illness; to facilitate self-advocacy for persons who are disabled by mental illness; and to promote education and research into issues faced by persons who are disabled by mental illness. Programs offered include a clubhouse, a community living support program, a semi-independent living program, a therapeutic volunteer program, and a consumer advocacy skills training program, as well as support groups and summer programs.
